Terms of Use - Owl Lock

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the Owl Lock mobile application (the "App") operated by Owl Lock ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Owl Lock is a sleep protection app that helps you reduce nighttime phone usage by blocking distracting apps during your chosen sleep window. The App uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls framework) to manage app restrictions on your device.

      Important: Owl Lock is a wellness tool designed to support healthy sleep habits. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for sleep-related health concerns.
    

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Account and Device

Owl Lock operates on your personal device and does not require account creation. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any actions taken through the App on your device.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

Free trial: We may offer a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged.

Subscription billing: Subscriptions are billed annually through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.

Refunds: All payments are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policies. We do not have the ability to process refunds for App Store purchases.

Price changes: We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, and you will be notified in advance.

5. License and Restrictions

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App on your personal iOS device, subject to these Terms.

You agree not to:

Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Attempt to circumvent any security features of the App
Use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose
Use the App to restrict another person's device without their consent

6. App Blocking and Screen Time

Owl Lock uses Apple's Screen Time API to block apps during your selected sleep window. You acknowledge and agree that:

App blocking relies on iOS system frameworks and may not work in all circumstances
iOS updates or changes to the Screen Time API may affect App functionality
You are responsible for configuring your own sleep schedule and app selections
The App is not guaranteed to prevent all access to blocked apps under every condition
We are not responsible for any consequences of apps being blocked or unblocked

7. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Owl Lock and are protected by intellectual property laws. The Owl Lock name, logo, and all related names, logos, and product names are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL OWL LOCK, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Owl Lock and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your license to use the App is revoked. You may terminate your use of the App at any time by deleting it from your device and canceling your subscription.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Israel.
